Disc Drop

Privacy Policy

Last updated October 11, 2026

Disc Drop tracks price history for 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD listings across retailers. This page describes what information we collect, what we don't, and how our retailer links work - in plain language, reflecting what the site actually does rather than a generic template. It isn't legal advice; if you need a compliance determination for a specific jurisdiction, consult a lawyer.

What we collect

We don't have user accounts, and we don't ask you for your name, email, or payment details. The only things we store are small, functional pieces of data tied to your browser, never to an identity:

Like essentially every website, our hosting providers (Cloudflare for the API, and wherever this site itself is hosted) generate standard server logs for security and operational purposes - things like IP address, browser user agent, and request timestamps. We don't use this for tracking or analytics; we don't run any analytics or advertising trackers on this site at all.

Images and metadata from third parties

Listing images are loaded directly from each retailer's own image hosting (e.g. Shopify's CDN) - your browser requests those images straight from the retailer's servers, which may log that request the same way any server does. Movie and TV metadata is provided by TMDB, fetched by our own servers - no information about you is sent to TMDB. This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.

Affiliate disclosure

Some listings on Disc Drop (clearly the ones we've manually added, not the ones we crawl from retailer catalogs) link to retailers like Amazon and Best Buy through affiliate links. If you click through and make a purchase, we may earn a commission - at no additional cost to you, and it never affects the price you pay or which listing we show you. Every other listing on the site comes directly from a retailer's own public product feed and isn't an affiliate relationship at all.

Where your clicks go

Clicking "Buy at [Retailer]" takes you to that retailer's own website, which has its own privacy policy and may set its own cookies or trackers - we have no control over, or visibility into, what happens after you leave Disc Drop.

Your choices

You can clear the country cookie, theme, and "last list page" values at any time through your browser's cookie/site-data settings - doing so just resets those preferences, nothing else. Since we don't run analytics or ad trackers, there's no cross-site tracking to opt out of in the first place.

Children's privacy

Disc Drop isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Changes to this policy

If what we collect or how we use it changes, we'll update this page and its "Last updated" date above.
